Bertram R. Carter

There is more than one Bertram R. Carter, but I suspect it’s Bertram Reginald Ernest Carter, who in 1911, at any rate, was a teacher, the son of a stationmaster, and from Norfolk. There is a Bertram Reginald Carter who marries in 1933 a Dorothy Saull or Cannon, in Islington, the only example of an alternative surname being shown in the register that I’ve ever seen. This may be the same Bertram R. Carter If not, then I’m wrong, as the magazine connection looks likely) as the Bertram R. Carter who was the last editor of Labour Leader between 1921 and 1922, and who wrote ‘Another Part of the Platform’ in 1931.
